Japanese tutors
The app can carry you to N5 on your own, but a teacher answers questions, fixes pronunciation and keeps you honest. So Kanakuma is adding a tutor directory: profiles, student reviews, and assignments that are set and checked inside the app.
What the directory will hold
We are onboarding teachers early so the directory does not open empty.

Honest reviews
Three ratings — knowledge, explanation, punctuality — plus text from students who actually studied with them.
Assignments in the app
Your teacher sets words, kanji and grammar; you do them as ordinary lessons and they see the result.

A directory page with reviews and a contact link — students without a commission on your lessons.

Students in groups, visible progress across words, kanji and reviews, assignments in two clicks.
Free at the start
The first teachers get their listing for free, until the paid tools ship.
What to include in your application
- Your name and a short introduction: teaching experience, education, certificates (JLPT, teaching qualifications).
- Levels and format: which levels you teach, online or in person, lesson length and price.
- Languages of explanation: English, Russian, Japanese — and your time zone.
- Links: a website, a marketplace profile, a trial lesson or a recording.
- A contact you actually read: email or a messenger.
Lessons and payments happen directly between student and teacher: Kanakuma provides the shop window, the assignments and the progress, but takes no part in the payments and does not vouch for lesson content. Applications are reviewed by hand.
