Apparently, judging by hearsay

Meaning

Used when the conclusion is based on information from others or indirect clues.

Formation

  1. Plain form or noun + らしい: 休みらしいです
  2. Nouns and na-adjectives drop だ
  3. It rests on what you heard, not on what you saw
