Meaning

Used when the speaker wants to try doing something and see the result.

Formation

  1. て form + みる — 書いてみます
  2. Often with 一度: 一度食べてみます

Important notes

  • てみる means trying an action to discover its result.

Common mistakes

  • It is not literally looking: 食べてみる means try eating or taste it.
