Formation

  1. い → くなかった — 寒い → 寒くなかった
  2. Polite: 寒くなかったです or 寒くありませんでした

Important notes

  • Go through the negative: 難しい → 難しくない → 難しくなかった. いい gives よくなかった; polite 難しくなかったです or 難しくありませんでした.

Common mistakes

  • Do not say 難しくないでした: the past belongs to the adjective itself, not to です.
