Important notes

  • ましょうか offers help (手伝いましょうか, shall I help?) or asks for agreement on a shared action (そろそろ帰りましょうか). The verb and the situation show who will act.

Common mistakes

  • An offer to act yourself is not a request: 窓を開けましょうか (shall I open the window?) vs 窓を開けてください (please open it).
