- Polite forms: 静かではありません or 静かじゃないです; in speech では contracts to じゃ. Before a noun use the whole negative: 簡単じゃない仕事.
Common mistakes
- 便利じゃない, not 便利くない — na-adjectives do not take くない. Drop な before the negative: 静かじゃない, not 静かなじゃない.
