Important notes
- って is a casual と for quotations (明日来るって, 行くって言ってた) and a casual topic marker: 漢字って難しい.
Common mistakes
- 行くって (says he will go) is not 行って (the て form). A reported statement normally uses the plain form, but an exact quote can keep polite speech: 「行きます」って言いました. In formal writing use と or というのは.
